This is usually the place where I give you this weeks end times prophecy, but today, in honor of Easter, I want to give you the most important Bible prophecy ever given, and ever fulfilled.

Jesus said in Matthew 17: 22-23,
22 And while they were gathering together in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men;
23 and they will kill Him, and He will be raised on the third day.”

Jesus told His disciples and His followers that He was going to die, and then be raised from the dead three days later. They didn’t believe it. Then He did it. The great theologian, Yogi Berra said, “It isn’t bragging if you can do it.” Jesus did it, and because of what He did, we will never be the same.

Jesus’ Resurrection

According to Newsweek magazine, the resurrection is the most radical of all Christian doctrines. I believe that’s true, and because it’s true, we should know and understand just what happened on that first Easter Sunday morning. That is why I will be giving you a resurrection timeline from all four Gospels this Easter Sunday.

Easter at Lakeside

Obviously, Easter is a big day at Lakeside. To prepare for Easter, I’m asking for your help to clean up the church grounds. We need to weed the planters and clean up the parking lot. If you can help on Saturday, just show up around 9 am and bring a rake, broom, shovel, weed-whacker or wheel barrel and we will get it knocked out fast.

Happy Easter to all, from all of us here at Lakeside Church.

noahIn honor of “The Sweetest Comeback in the History of Ever,” our Sunday morning study through the book of Revelation, here is this week’s end-times prophecy:

In the last days, the Bible says, despite the Bible’s numerous warnings and prophecies, many people would be taken by surprise when these events actually happen (Luke 21: 34-36; I Thessalonians 5: 2-6). But if you think about it, that is typical of people’s response to God.

fire and brimstone

People made fun of Noah for building a boat in the middle of the desert…until it started to rain. The people of Sodom and Gomorrah didn’t think God would do anything to them…until fire and brimstone began to fall from the sky. And a lot of people who claim to know Jesus Christ are going to be really bummed to find all their Christian friends have been taken out of the world…but they’re still here. Don’t be surprised. Be sure, while you still have time. Not a sermon, just a thought.

We are in the middle of our membership reaffirmation process. This is a part of our new by-laws. The purpose of this is to make sure we’re all on the same page and pulling the same direction. Thanks to all of you who filled out the card and turned it in. We appreciate your faithfulness to the Lord and to His church. Our elders are in the process of working with people to match them with ministries in the church and encourage involvement in care groups, so that everyone in the church can have one job and do it well. Reaffirmation and new membership are encouraged but not required for worshiping at Lakeside Church. We welcome one and all.

Easter Sunday

We’re asking everyone who calls Lakeside home to make plans to celebrate Easter with family and friends here at Lakeside Church. Easter is one week from this Sunday. This will be our first anniversary as Lakeside. That will be a sweet time for us to celebrate together.

Women Bow And Pray

Care Groups

Right after Easter, we will be kicking off our care group ministry at Lakeside. We will give you the information about that this Sunday. And, of course, this Sunday we continue in our study of the book of Revelation. We’ll be talking about the very end events of the tribulation from Revelation 16.

I’ll see you Sunday, here at Lakeside Church,

~Pastor Mack

In honor of “The Sweetest Comeback in the History of Ever,” our Sunday morning study through the book of Revelation, here is this week’s end-times prophecy:

earthquakeIn the last days, the Bible says there will be great earthquakes in diverse places (Luke 21: 11; Isaiah 24: 19-20; Revelation 6: 12-14; Revelation 16: 18-20). We are reminded of this prophecy every time the ground begins to move. And for those of us who live in Southern California, the earth seems to move all the time.

Earthquakes are just a part of life here, like the beach, the mountains, freeways and In-N-Out burger. But these earthquakes that we experience now are just reminders of the promises in the Bible that Jesus is coming back, and right before He comes, there are going to be earthquakes all over the globe. So every earthquake we experience means that we are that much closer to the day when Jesus comes back. Not a sermon, just a thought.

Membership Re-Affirmation

We are in the middle of our membership reaffirmation process. This is a part of our new by-laws. The purpose of this is to make sure we’re all on the same page and pulling the same direction. Thanks to all of you who filled out the card and turned it in. We appreciate your faithfulness to the Lord and to His church. If you haven’t filled out a card yet, that’s okay. You will be getting a call from one of the elders, so that we can get to know you and make sure we’re all on the same page. By the way, thanks to all of you who aren’t yet members at Lakeside, for filling out a card indicating your interest in membership. We will be contacting you very soon too.

Easter is Nearly Here

Easter is just two weeks away, and we want you to make plans to celebrate Easter with family and friends here at Lakeside Church. Easter is on April 20th this year, and it will be our first anniversary as Lakeside. What ever you do, don’t miss that.

Care Groups

Right after Easter, we will be kicking off our care groups ministry at Lakeside. We will give you the information on that this Sunday. And, of course, this Sunday we continue in our study of the book of Revelation. We’ll be talking about the beginning of the end from Revelation 15.

I’ll see you Sunday, here at Lakeside Church.

~Pastor Mack

love yourself in wood typeIn honor of “The Sweetest Comeback in the History of Ever,” our Sunday morning study through the book of Revelation, here is this week’s end-times prophecy:

In the last days, the Bible says, men would be lovers of themselves (2 Timothy 3: 1-3). This generation, like no other, regards self above all else. Self-love, self-esteem, self-reliance and self-gratification are constantly encouraged by the media, schools, psychologists and every other aspect of our society.

In contrast, Jesus taught self-denial, self-control and self-discipline. Unfortunately, many churches today teach a “feel good about yourself” message. It’s no wonder the church in America is an inch deep and a mile wide. Not a sermon, just a thought.

Membership

This Sunday, we will continue our membership reaffirmation process. This is a part of our new by-laws. The purpose of this is to make sure we’re all on the same page and pulling the same direction. It’s a great way for you to get to know our elders, and it’s also a great way for us to hear from you.

If you have inquired about membership, we sent you an email on Monday with the reaffirmation card attached. Please print it out, fill it out and bring it to church with you. Don’t worry if you didn’t get the email; we will have cards for you to fill out here at church. The next step will be for one of our elders to contact you. By the way, if you are not a member at Lakeside, that’s okay. Maybe this is a good time to consider becoming a member and joining the Lakeside family.

EasterEaster & One-Year Anniversary of Lakeside

Speaking of family, Easter is right around the corner, and we want you to make plans to celebrate Easter with family and friends here at Lakeside Church. This year, Easter will be on April 20, which is also the date of our first anniversary as Lakeside. What ever you do, don’t miss that.

Sunday’s Sermon

This Sunday, we will continue studying Revelation. We’ll be talking about the heroes of the tribulation from Revelation 14, and it could be the best sermon you ever heard in your life (Hey–it could happen).

I’ll see you here at Lakeside Church this Sunday.

~Pastor Mack

RussiaIn honor of “The Sweetest Comeback in the History of Ever,” our Sunday morning study through the book of Revelation, here is this week’s end-times prophecy:

In the last days, the Bible says, Russia (Magog) would rise as a military power and lead an attack on Israel (Ezekiel 38). Today, most of the southern states of the former Soviet Union are both military powerhouses and Muslim. Today, Russia is in the process of invading and taking over the country of Ukraine, which shows us that, as a military power, Russia is fully capable of carrying out an attack on the nation of Israel. This would have been impossible a mere few hundred years ago, but it’s happening today, right before our eyes. All of this is happening just as the Bible said it would. Not a sermon, just a thought.

daylight-savingsDaylight Savings Time this Sunday, March 9

Well, spring is in the air early this year in Lake Arrowhead. The sun is shining, the tulips are blooming, and that can mean only one thing, day-light savings time is here. Don’t forget to set your clocks forward one hour on Saturday night, so that you can be here at 10:00 am sharp for church on Sunday morning (10:07 am if you live on mountain time).

Easter is Right Around the Corner

I want you to make plans to celebrate Easter with family and friends here at Lakeside Church. I’ll give you more information about what we have planned as we get closer.

Regular Weekly Activities

If you haven’t been to our regular mid-week ministries that happen here at Lakeside, Youth, AWANA, Women’s and Men’s Bible studies, this would be a great time to get involved. Our men’s Bible study is going through the creation account in Genesis. It’s a great study, and I encourage all you men to come and join in. You’ll be glad you did.

I’ll see you bright and early this Sunday here at Lakeside Church.

Dove returningIn honor of “The Sweetest Comeback in the History of Ever,” our Sunday morning study through the book of Revelation, here is this week’s end-times prophecy:

In the last days, the Bible says, the fact that God once flooded the earth (Genesis 6) would be denied (2 Peter 3: 5-6). There is a mass of fossil evidence to prove this fact, yet it is flatly ignored by most of the scientific world. The fact that the scientific world discounts the Biblical account of the flood is not surprising, it is exactly what the Bible says would happen in the last days. Listen to the words of the Apostle Peter, written 2000 years ago:

vs 5: “But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water.”

vs 6: “By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed.”

Why would people ignore such clear truth? The answer is found in Revelation 12: 9–

“Satan, who deceives the whole world.” The closer we get to the Lord’s return, the more we see people ignoring the truth of the Bible, and believing theories make no sense at all. And we see this happening more and more each day, just as the Bible said it would. Not a sermon, just a thought.

Take advantage of our regular mid-week ministries that happen here at Lakeside, Youth, AWANA, Women’s and Men’s Bible studies, and take some time to pray for those who lead these ministries. I don’t know what we would do without these faithful people.

Paul said, “Encourage one another, especially as you see the day approaching.” I want to encourage you to check out the flowers in the front of the church and up by the sign. They are beautiful, and we give a big Lakeside salute to all who helped plant them. It seems that Spring is in the air here at Lakeside Church. I can’t wait to see you Sunday.

The Star of DavidIn honor of “The Sweetest Comeback in the History of Ever,”our Sunday morning study through the book of Revelation, here is this week’s end-times prophecy:
In the last days, the Bible says Anti-Semitism will be common worldwide (Deuteronomy 28: 37; Jeremiah 29: 18, 44: 8; Like 21: 20-24; Revelation 12). History confirms that the Jews have been persecuted more than any other people group. Babylon, Persia, Stalin and Hitler tried to exterminate them, and the Antichrist will attempt the same during the Tribulation.
Today, anti-Semitism is a global epidemic. Israel is surrounded by nations that have the common goal of eliminating Israel from the face of the earth. For example, of over 700 General Assembly resolutions passed since the establishment of the United Nations in 1945, nearly 450 condemn Israel. None have been passed against any Arab country or any Arab terrorist organizations. In other words, out of 190 nations in the UN, over 60% of all General Assembly resolutions rebuke just one member, Israel. All of this is happening right before our very eyes, just as the Bible said it would. Not a sermon, just a thought.
Youth Winter Camp Report
Our mission statement here at Lakeside Church is to make fully devoted disciples of Jesus Christ. And it’s awesome to watch Christ working in the lives of our people. We had that privilege this past weekend at youth winter camp. I would love to tell you some of the stories of what happened there, but I think it’s better if those young people tell their stories themselves. So, this Sunday we will let some of our campers tell us how the Lord is changing them into fully devoted disciples.
Weekly Happenings
Don’t forget our regular mid-week ministries that happen here at Lakeside, Youth, AWANA, Women’s and Men’s Bible studies, and take some time to pray for those who lead these ministries. I would also ask you to pray for our elders as we seek God’s direction for the future of Lakeside Church.
Paul said, “Encourage one another, especially as you see the day approaching.” I wish I could express to you how your faithfulness encourages me. Just know I can’t wait to see you on Sunday here at Lakeside Church.

Flowers in the hand grenadeIn honor of “The Sweetest Comeback in the History of Eve,r” our Sunday morning study through the book of Revelation, here is this week’s end-times prophecy:

In the last days, the Bible says the Antichrist would use a false peace to destroy many people (Daniel 8: 23-25). With all the problems facing mankind today, multitudes are looking for a savior to usher in peace and prosperity without any kind of moral accountability. The Antichrist will promise the world and Israel this kind of peace, if they follow him. And unfortunately, many will follow him.

Israel will actually enter into a peace treaty with the Antichrist that he will confirm, and eventually break (Daniel 9: 27). For all of my life, U.S. presidents and the world’s government leaders have been striving for a Middle-East peace with Israel and her Arab neighbors. It hasn’t happened yet, but it will, just as the Bible says. Not a sermon, just a thought.

Our youth group is packing up and heading home from Newport Beach Winter Camp. They went to the beach, Knott’s Berry Farm, Mars Hill Church, and heard great Bible lessons from their leaders. We would like to thank the youth leaders who were far away from their loved ones on Valentine’s weekend. All of us at Lakeside Church appreciate our fearless and dedicated youth leaders. When it comes to sacrifice, selflessness and commitment, you are the tip of the sword, and our young people are blessed to have such fine examples to follow.

Last week, I asked you if you knew a plumber or a water leak detector. Thanks to all of you who responded. I am pleased to let you know we found the leak, thanks to Steve Newcombe. In appreciation, the elders have bestowed on Steve the official title of Lakeside Church Water Leak Detector. So when you see Steve at church on Sunday, be sure to salute, and thank him for a job well done.

That’s it for now. I’ll see you Sunday here at Lakeside.

fruits HSvIn honor of “The Sweetest Comeback in the History of Ever,” our Sunday morning study through the book of Revelation, here is this week’s end-times prophecy:
In the last days, the Bible says the Christian gospel would be preached as a witness to all nations (Matthew 24: 14; Mark 13: 10; Revelation 14: 6). Today, portions, or all of the Bible, have been translated into over 2,400 languages and dialects covering over 90% of the world’s population. Not only that, during the tribulation, there will be people from every nation, tribe, people and tongue who will come to Christ.
Then they will tell others about Christ, along with the 144,000 Jewish evangelists, and the two witnesses who will be in Jerusalem for the last half of the tribulation time. We will talk about these two witnesses this Sunday. That will be a sermon; this is just a thought.
Looking for a Few Good Handymen or Women
There are times in a church when we have a special need. This is one of the times at Lakeside. We have a water leak somewhere in our church, but we can’t find it. If any of you know a plumber or a water leak finder that would be willing to take a look at our church, that would be very helpful. Please let me know if you know somebody.
Prayer Requests
Please continue to remember Jim Border and Greg Bench in your prayers. Both of these guys are dealing with illnesses and both could use your prayers for healing. Also pray for our young people who are going to winter camp next week.
Winter Camp
Winter camp for our youth group is February 14-17. We will be spending Valentines’ weekend in Newport Beach. This Sunday, Feb. 9  is the deadline to sign up. If you have any questions, contact Nancy Braden, and she will get you dialed in.
I’ll see you Sunday here at Lakeside.

DiseasesIn honor of “The Sweetest Comeback in the History of Ever,” our Sunday morning study through the book of Revelation, here is this week’s end-times prophecy:

In the last days, the Bible says Deadly diseases, which the Bible calls pestilence, would be common (Matthew 24: 7; Revelation 6: 8). Emerging diseases such as AIDS, Ebola, Hanta virus, Dengue, West Nile, SARS, bird flu, etc., underscore this fact. Ironically, just a few decades ago, some scientists were forecasting that advances in medicine might soon eradicate these deadly diseases. Now they seem to be more out of control than ever, just like the Bible says. Not a sermon, just a thought.

Rummage Sale Success

We want to offer a Lakeside salute to everyone who participated in the yard sale fundraiser for our youth ministry last weekend. We made around $1,000 over the three-day weekend, and all of that will go to helping our teens go to winter camp. So, if you donated stuff, if you were involved in the set up or clean up, sold stuff, or put it all away when it was over, thanks. You never know what God will do in the life of a kid at camp.

Winter Camp for Youth

Speaking of camp, winter camp for our crew is February 14-17. We will be spending the three-day weekend in Newport Beach. Camp is a very important time in the life of a student. I know I made some of the most important decisions of my life at camp. Pray for these young people as they go to camp. And pray for their leaders too, for wisdom and stamina. They will need it.

Prayer Requests

Speaking of prayer, I’d invite you to remember Jim Border and Greg Bench in your prayers. Both of these fine men are dealing with illnesses and both could use your prayers for healing.

Business Meeting January 26

If you are a member of Lakeside Church, or if you call Lakeside home, I want to invite you to our first ever, Elder led business meeting this Sunday. Our elders will present the budget for 2014 and present ministry plans for the coming year. The business meeting will be right after church. Don’t miss it.

I’ll see you Sunday at Lakeside Church.
